Crazy Complex Reset Circuit

Before I wire the prototype on the protoboard I wanted to get the CTS reset working so that the host PC could reset the Z80. Some programs(teraterm) hold RTS low all the time so I needed to make it momentary. I put a cap/pullup combination in to do that and then another diode to /RST. This works fine except that I routinely use MODE COMx RTS=ON to reset the Z80 from dos which seems to do several pulses. Anyway, the circuit is pretty crufty looking:
