Carbot Smoke Test

October 12, 2014

I tried the carbot assembly briefly with all power coming from USB for both logic and motor drive -leaving the regulator out and jumpering power in to out at its connector. This quickly failed, I’m sure there is just too much noise from the motors.

I realized then that, with the regulator out, i can safely hook up battery and usb power at the same time. This just sort of whined but it did it for the right length of time so i think the batteries are just run down – they show 2.6V under no load and i think it would be almost 4 if they were charged – I’ll give them an hour. I have, at least identified that the B inputs and outputs control the right side motor.
